The Ten Commandments and the New Testament/Covenant
The Ten Commandments are to be foundationally understand and applied under Christ (the New Covenant)
Here are the Ten Commandments and some examples of where they are found in the New Testament.
Note that John, James, and Paul writings of the Holy Spirit occurred after Jesus death on the cross.
Therefore, it would be illogical to say they only applied before Jesus death on the cross.

Except for the 4th commandment having to do with the Sabbath, all of the ten commandments are brought forward and incorporated into the New Covenant to be obeyed by disciples of Christ both in spirit (Rom 7:6; 2 Cor 3:6) and in letter.
Indeed, the listed New Testament scriptures show that Christians are instructed to obey the incorporated commandments.
However, I know of no New Testament scripture that instructs the believer to keep the Sabbath as the New Testament scriptures do for the other commandments.
The Apostles and others in the Bible do keep the sabbath but there is no instructions for people to do so.
Instead there are scriptures in which Christians are exhorted not to judge or be concerned with whether fellow Christians or others are keeping the Sabbath (Col 3:16; Rom 14:5).
Therefore, it seems that the apostles in bible days being Jews accustomed to worshipping and resting on the seventh day simply kept that custom as a matter of righteoous human preference.
Likewise those of today accustomed to worshipping on Sunday or who choose to worship on Sunday for whatever reason are righteous to do so as a matter of righteous human preference.
This principle is similar to physical circumcision which the apostles and elders determined in Acts 15 is not necessary for salvation. Yet, if one chooses to get circumcised it is righteous to do so under the understanding it is not necessary for salvation.
Although the Sabbath keeping does not seem to be commanded I hold that one should keep it in spirit whether it be the seventh day or the first day of the week by choosing to not work seven days a week on a regular basis.
Indeed, chasing the money and materialism or otherwise working shows a lack of faith and detracts from one's worship focus and family focus, both of which are advantageous for an all around healthy spiritual and natural life.
