Chaurcey Boyd - Minister of Jesus Christ
Community Outreach, Development, and Engagement (CODE), is the vision and an initiative of Chaurcey Boyd with respect to the application of spiritual principles to the natural challenges of life.
The core functions of Chaurcey's ministry focuses on worship, the Great Commandments (Matthew 22:34-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). This includes love for God, self, and others and calling all to become disciples of Christ and to live that discipleship out in all areas of life everyday, in everyplace, in every way. This involves preaching and teaching spiritual truths and their application to every area of life.
CODE on the other hand focuses on the second part of the Great Commandment; that second part is about love for others as one loves oneself. CODE therefore focuses on love for self and community. In essence, this was the call of the Seven of Acts 6:1-7 and the work of Paul in 1 Cor 16:1-3 and Rom 15:25-27. CODE is about being a church ministry that meets the temporal needs of the people not just in terms of hand-outs but even more importantly hand-ups.
CODE is dedicated to engaging the community so as to honor God in all aspects of society and to improve quality of life for all citizens. CODE involves the application of spiritual truths and acceptable moral community norms so as to reach for equitable quality of life. However, CODE focus is not on proselytizing/evangelizing; that is taken care of by other minstry elements. CODE does make it known as to schedule and opportunities regarding other ministry elements. Yet a person's access to and utilization of CODE services, support and resources shall not require participation in any event of other of Chaurcey's ministry elements.
The impetus for CODE is the observation that God calls for the universal church of Jesus Christ to be the pillar and ground of truth (I Tim 3:15) for all areas of life including all society institutions (Psalm 127:1). For the earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein (Psalm 24:1). This stimulus includes the observable need for more intense faith community involvement in helping people to live the desired life of faith (Matthew 22:15-22; Matthew 25:27, 40; John 17:21; Acts 6:1-7; Acts 15:1-35; Acts 17:1-2; Ephesians 4:11-16) everywhere on earth in a manner that glorifies God. This includes easing the denominational, racial, political, and socio-economic divide in society. CODE operates in the spirit of repentance, faith, hope, love, grace, mercy, and compassion (Matthew 4:17; 1 Corinthians 13:13; 2 Chronicles 7:13-14; Psalm 85:1-13)
